Tok Pisin Lunches

Our informal Tok Pisin lunch gatherings bring together anyone interested in the language or in Papua New Guinea. If you’re happy to forget about English for an hour and chat in Tok Pisin instead, just come along. Your proficiency level doesn’t matter. Just bring your coffee, or lunch, or just yourself! We catch up every Thursday at 12:30pm in the barbecue area to the left of Menzies Library.

Tok Pisin Language and Cultural Awareness, CHL ANU

CHL are running the Tok Pisin Language and Cultural Awareness micro-credential course in September 2023. 2023 Vocabulary Symposium – FAIR Vocabularies for All 
14-15 Nov 2023

A two day hybrid event bringing together people from domains across multiple disciplines spanning research, government and industry, including those from the ARDC Thematic Research Data Commons. The aim is to communicate and promote approaches to using, developing, publishing, and maintaining vocabularies. The Symposium will cover Australian and international initiatives that demonstrate the impact and value of FAIR vocabularies for maximising the re-use value of data within and across domains.

The Symposium is led by the ARDC, in partnership with ADA, AHRA, APPF, AURIN, AuScope, AusTraits, CODATA, IMOS, LDaCA, and TERN.

ANU Anthropology Seminar Series

Linguistic Futures reading group
Once a month the linguistic futures reading group we will be reading papers which have an eye on the future of the language sciences with a special focus on comparative approaches to language. The group will be held on the first Wednesday of every month in the Engma room (3.165) in the Coombs Building from 11am to 12noon.
